Work Tools Stolen From Resident’s Truck
Work tools are what a Lawrenceburg man said were missing from his truck after it was apparently burglarized earlier in the week.
The victim, age 64, filed a complaint with Lawrenceburg Police officers Wednesday afternoon. He said that while his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was parked in the driveway at his Crystal Street home, he noticed that a tool box full of tools had gone missing.
The victim told officers that the theft could have occurred while he was at his home, but that it might also have occurred the previous day in the Columbia area.
He said that he had stopped at a gas station on Highway 31 Tuesday and that his truck had been unsecured and unattended for approximately ten minutes.
He said that he remembered a clean, white, late model, full sized van had been parked alongside him. He told officers that he never got a look at the occupants.
Missing were masonry tools, pry bars, a grinder, chisels, rock hammer, and other items with a total estimated value of $750.
